Website testing can be a great way for you to make extra money in your free time.

But, why would someone pay you to test a website or an app?

Great question!

When a new website is created, it is difficult for the owner to know if it’s working properly, or if visitors are facing usability problems while navigating through it.

The only way to know how user-friendly a website is is by hiring a few people (website testers) to go through it and check for usability problems or errors so that the owner can improve the user experience of the visitors in the future.

We all know that a poor user experience leads to visitors leaving a website, and if they leave, it means the website owner will get less traffic which might lead to a loss of revenue.

As a website owner, I wouldn’t want to lose money because of something that I can control and I know you wouldn’t either.

That’s why many website owners reach out to companies like TryMyIU to do usability testing on their behalf to make navigation easier.

Online testing jobs focus on the layout/ design, navigation, information found on the website, and loading time (how fast a website loads).

If you have a computer, a smartphone, an internet connection and a few minutes to spare, you can take part in website testing and get paid for it

And the best part is you get to set your own hours, work from home, and the testing time is 10 to 20 minutes max.

But… What Is Website testing?

Well, in case you are wondering what website testing is. This is where you visit a client’s website and give detailed feedback about the experiences you’ve had while going through the website.

The owners want to know how user-friendly their websites are in terms of layout, navigation, actual content e.t.c. So, they look for website testers (beta testers) to help them out through market research.

This is also called website usability testing. It enables site owners to offer a better experience to their customers and allow them to detect any website issues and fix them in good time.

I have carefully outlined beta tester jobs for you below but first… let’s discuss beta tester requirements, any special skills and how much you can make per month.

Are Any Special Skills Needed to Test Websites for Money?

No. But, you have to complete a simple qualification test. They use this test to make sure your microphone is audible enough.

Also, they want to see how well you can express your thoughts while giving feedback. So, confidence matters. That’s why I included confidence as part of the requirements.

The number of tests you get, per week or per month, will be dependent on how well you perform on this initial test. A good tester is someone who can provide useful information that is beneficial to both the site owner and the visitors.
