Do you work online? Are you looking for a more convenient payment solution for your freelance career or business? If you do, then you are at the write place. I have written a detailed post on “How to Get a Payoneer Mastercard in Kenya.”
I know I mention Kenya in the post because this is where I come from, but this post is for all online professionals.
Why Did I Write This Post?
I was inspired to write this post so I can give you more options when it comes to accessing your online payments.
As a PayPal customer, I was unhappy with some of the problems I was facing (and I’m sure you might have faced the same in one way or another) like unnecessary account restrictions. According to them, this is just a routine check up to eliminate fraudulent activities like money laundering etc. But, it can be such a pain in the butt, if that’s the only option you have.
What is Payoneer?
Payoneer is a leading online global payment solution that offers easy money transfer and e-commerce payment services in 200 countries and in over 70 currencies. As a card holder you have the option of either receiving your funds in your local bank account or at ATM’s if you have a Mastercard.
Who is qualified to apply?
Anyone who is above 18 years and has a national identity card, Driver’s license or a Passport.

How to sign up for a free Payoneer Mastercard
If you are working online and are looking for a faster, secure and cost-effective payment solution, I encourage you to get a free Payoner Mastercard. So, click on this link here and you will be taken to the “Sign up Now” button as show in the picture below.
As you can see above, if you sign up and activate your account you will receive $25 in your account that you can withdraw at any time. Personally, I know one or two things that I can buy with the $25 (pay my Aweber autoresponder subscription, for example) and I know you do too. So, what are you waiting for? Click this link and get signed up today!
When you click on the link, you will be taken to the page above where you are required to submit your personal info like your full names, email address and your date of birth. Make sure that information is correct. Otherwise, your account won’t be approved. When you finish inserting the details click on that orange button called “Next”
Here you have to fill in the boxes your country where you live, street address (not P.O. BOX), your city, postal/zip code and then your phone number. Payoneer team will use this info to send you the card to your exact location. So, be specific with your location. The number can either be a mobile number or landline. Any of the two is fine. Again, click on the orange button “Next”
Next is choosing a password and creating a security question. You will be using the password every time you want to sign into your account. The security question will be used if, for any reason, you lose access to your account. The Payoneer team will ask you some questions to make sure that it’s actually you, the owner, who needs access back to his/her account. Click the button “Next”
The last step is verifying your account. You can do this by providing your Passport, National Identification card or Driver’s License.
How to activate your Mastercard
If all goes well you will receive your Payoneer Mastercard after a while. Depending on where you are located the card will be shipped to you in a period of 2 weeks to 1 month. I got mine after 1 month. Those in the US get theirs in approximately 2 weeks.
When you get the card, you are required to log into your account using the username and password you created previously to gain access to the account. The card will be shipped in a white envelope with a letter containing instructions on what to do next. You will be required to enter certain digits that will be found on your card and then asked to choose a pin number that you will be using to withdraw funds from your account at ATM’s. After doing all these, your account will now become active.
NB: Make sure you have sufficient funds on the card before making a withdrawal. Otherwise, some ATMs may seize your card if they realize you attempted to make a withdrawal on an empty card.
Charges &Transaction fees
I’ve got to admit that getting your card is totally free but once you have it, there will be a monthly/yearly maintenance fee and some minimal transaction fees (which is totally okay in my opinion). I believe the reason you wanted this card is so you can send and receive payments with ease. So I am sure you are either a freelancer expecting payments from clients or you are a merchant buying and selling goods and services online. This shouldn’t be a problem at all.
Look at the table below to see fees and charges that apply to your Payoneer Mastercard. We have $29.95 annual account maintenance fees, $12.95 for card replacement, $1 ATM balance inquiry fee etc.
