Many people know Facebook as a place for connecting with friends and sharing current events. What they don’t realize is that Facebook can be used as a tool to make money and LOTS of it!
You can make money on Facebook by selling your services in the Facebook marketplace or share your links in groups and pages. This approach does work for some people but it’s not that effective.
The most effective way that I have seen is using Facebook ads to promote affiliate offers. The offers can be from any affiliate network, but we are going to focus on Clickbank offers in this post.
I have a guest today. Her name is Dawn-Marie Nesbitt. Dawn has been making money with Clickbank by running Facebook ads for the past year. She will show us step-by-step how to make money on Facebook by promoting Clickbank offers.
Over to you Dawn-Marie!

Paying for Facebook Ads Leads to Quick Money on Clickbank
If you have no problem investing money into an advertising budget then this blog post is for you.
There are so many ways that you can make money online.
From building your own blog with SEO (search engine optimized) content to completing surveys to providing a service to clients.
But nothing works faster and provides you with recurring income than affiliate marketing using paid traffic. Investing in ads is the quickest way to get eyes on your blog posts and clicks on your affiliate links.
In a previous blog post on CPA marketing for beginners, I showed you how I make money using the Bing Ads traffic platform and the affiliate network, MaxBounty.
In this blog post, I am showing you how to make money on Clickbank using Facebook ads.
When you think about using Facebook as a traffic source, the one thing that I see affiliates do is to sign up to many Facebook groups and promote their affiliate links in that group.
Of course, you can get away with this, if you are a dedicated member of the group and have provided some type of value in the form of helpful content. But, if you have not built a relationship with its members, why should they trust your recommendation?
Free traffic sources like Facebook groups require you to build a relationship with their members first, and building relationships do take time.
A method I like to use to fast track the relationship-building process is to promote affiliate products on a blog post using Facebook ads.
Keep reading and get more insights as I break down this affiliate marketing strategy using paid traffic methods.

What Is Clickbank and How Do I Sign Up?
Clickbank is an affiliate network and it’s one of the easiest platforms to sign up as an affiliate.
Clickbank’s affiliate products are primarily digital products created by people who wish to share their wisdom through digital courses.
I say that Clickbank is one of the easiest platforms to sign up because it is not as strict as other affiliate networks such as MaxBounty or FlexOffers, in terms of their requirements for affiliates.
The last time I checked, Clickbank sign up requires your name, postal address, email address and bank information.
Please note that some countries are ineligible to sign up. You should check to see if your country is among them by going to the Clickbank website.
If you are already Clickbank user but can’t seem to figure out how the platform works, you can refer to this Clickbank affiliate marketing strategy post.
The post shows you what metrics to consider when selecting affiliate products to promote, how to use those products in your marketing campaigns and some of the best products to promote on Clickbank.
What Type of Products Should You Promote?
If it’s your first time using Clickbank, there are a number of great products that you can promote.
The good thing about this is that you do not need to purchase any of the products to start promoting, but it would be helpful if you had some knowledge about the product.
To give you a head start, here are 10 of the best products that I would recommend you to bookmark so you can research them later and potentially promote one, two or all of them:
- TedsWoodworking
- Red Tea Detox
- Make Men Obsess Over You
- Lean-Belly Breakthrough
- Internet JetSet
- The 2-Week Diet
- CB Passive Income
- The Fat Decimator
- Numerology
- Manifestation Miracle
I recommend promoting these products because the product owner provides great affiliate tools to help you with your own marketing, and they have great conversion rates, making them easily convertible with a cold audience.
In my experience with Facebook Ads, I have seen great success in promoting the TedsWoodworking, Numerology and Manifestation Miracle products. Any advice I give will be based on my experience promoting these products.
How to Gain Trust From a Cold Audience Using a Blog Post
What is a cold audience? A cold audience in marketing involves people who do not know anything about you.
They have never seen you before and they have never interacted with you.
Always keep in mind, as you go out into the Facebook marketplace, your ads will be put before a cold audience.
It is then up to you as the advertiser to make that cold audience warm up to you. There are a couple of ways that I do this.
The first way I do this, is with a lead generation funnel. A lead generation funnel helps you to build a list of subscribers that you can promote any product(s) to.
Once you have built your funnel you can channel those leads to your Clickbank affiliate product.
This is a good approach as it allows you to put those leads through an email sequence, nurture them and recommend not only the Clickbank product but also other relevant products.
The second way I promote Clickbank products to a cold audience is via a blog post.
The reason why this works is you can write helpful content that provides value upfront.
That content can also aim to solve a problem and then recommend the Clickbank product as a solution to the problem.
So how does this work in reality?
Let’s say that you decide to promote the TedsWoodworking project.
TedsWoodworking is a digital product that helps woodworkers find any plan that they can use to build and design a woodwork project.
With this information, you can write a blog post that helps woodworkers overcome creative block and find a huge resource for over 16,000 easily accessible woodworking projects.
Once you have written helpful content that guides the reader on how to overcome a creative block you can then recommend TedsWoodworking digital download as a solution to their problem.
Writing a blog post does three things:
- It offers valuable content to the reader before you pitch your offer
- It creates trust between the reader and your blog. So make sure the post is well thought out and put together
- It warms up the reader and will naturally make sense if you recommend a product that solves their problem.
Is this something that you can do?
If yes, I urge you to write your first post then use my guidelines in the next chapter to send lots of traffic to that post. Doing this will jump-start your Clickbank affiliate marketing journey.
How to Make Money from Clickbank Using Facebook Ads
Before we get started with using Clickbank Facebook ads, I want to let you know that I have been making money with Clickbank using Facebook ads for 4+ years now. So, I have a lot of experience when it comes to using Facebook ads.
I understand too well how to use Facebook data to analyze the performance of ads and strategies that you can use to generate results.
If all this feels new to you, I strongly recommend taking a course to help you learn how to use it the platform with a small budget.
Here’s a very useful video you can use to set up your first Facebook ads campaign. Whilst this video shows you how to set up a Facebook ad to drive traffic to a landing page, follow the steps so you can learn how to drive traffic to your blog post.
As an advertiser, I want you to remember something
When you interact with a cold audience they will not buy your product the first time. So the analogy that I always use to help you understand the marketing process, is the dating-marriage analogy.
When you meet someone for the first time, do you immediately ask them to marry you? No. You have to interact with them, get to know them, take them out on dates then after some time you may feel comfortable enough to propose to them.
This is the same concept that you should have in mind when doing your marketing.
You will unlikely get sales the first time that you show your offer to a person on the Facebook platform. But when you nurture them and engage with them, they can easily warm up to you and the idea of buying your recommended product.
This is where retargeting comes into play and you can do that by using retargeting ads to put your offer back in front of those people who viewed your blog post.
To build a retargeting campaign is simple.
Once you have set up an ad using the above video tutorial, I strongly recommend that you create your custom audience first.
Your custom audience on Facebook are those people who visited your blog post.
To do this, start by going to Audiences from within your Facebook business manager.
Click on Create Audience, then Custom Audience.
Then website traffic.
On the drop-down menu, click “People who visited specific web pages” then enter the URL of your blog post that you are promoting.
Leave the number of days as “30”; name your audience which is for your reference only then click Create Audience.
Facebook will track your blog visitors and create an audience from these people.
You can then simply repeat the process from the video above, to create a retargeting ad using the people from this new audience in your adset.
The Key is to Solve Your Readers’ Problems
I want you to realize that people buy a product because it solves their problems. So if you have a specific product and can use helpful content to sell that product and keep reminding your prospects about the product, you can achieve sales.
I know I have probably made this easier than it sounds, but please remember that marketing is a skill. It is a learned process that takes time to master.
If you start now and learn this skill you can become a master in no time. I have simply provided you with the beginning steps to enlighten you about the possibilities that you have.
Good luck on this journey.
