60+ Legit Sites to Work Remotely & Earn Online (2026)
Most “100 sites to make money online” lists you’ll find floating around Pinterest and LinkedIn are the same problem dressed up differently: a wall of platform names with zero context, no idea which ones still exist, and no sense of which one actually fits you.
So I built this one differently.
Every platform below is something I’ve personally researched, cross-checked against 2026 reviews, and organised into categories based on what kind of skill, time, or interest it actually requires. No defunct job boards. No platforms that quietly stopped paying real money. No vague “do tasks for cash” entries that turn out to pay less than a penny an hour.
I’m Virginia Nakitari. I’ve been covering legitimate online income since 2017, and this is the list I wish existed when I started — organised by category, with an honest note on who each one is actually for.
Bookmark this post. You won’t use all 60+ platforms — you’ll use 2 or 3. This list helps you find which ones.

How to Use This List
Don’t try to sign up for everything. Pick one category that matches a skill or interest you already have, choose 2–3 platforms within it, and go deep before you go wide. A focused beginner who commits to two platforms for 60 days will out-earn someone who signed up for fifteen and used none of them properly.

FAQ: Finding Legit Remote Work and Online Income Platforms
How many of these platforms should I actually sign up for?
Two or three, maximum, to start. Choose one category that matches a skill or interest you already have, pick the top 2–3 platforms within it, and commit to those for at least 30–60 days before adding more. Spreading thin across ten platforms typically produces worse results than going deep on two.
Are all the platforms on this list completely free to join?
The large majority are free — freelancing platforms, survey sites, transcription and proofreading platforms, and most job boards cost nothing to sign up for. FlexJobs is a notable exception, charging a subscription fee in exchange for fully vetted listings. Course-based or certification platforms occasionally carry a cost, which is noted where relevant.
Which category has the fastest path to first income?
Online surveys (category 8) pay the fastest — often within 24–48 hours of reaching a small cashout minimum — but for modest amounts. Among genuine income-building categories, freelancing platforms like Fiverr typically produce a first paid order within 1–3 weeks for beginners who create a focused, specific gig listing.
What if a platform on this list has changed or shut down by the time I read this?
Online platforms do change, merge, or shut down over time — this list is current as of 2026, and I review and update it periodically. If you find a dead link or a platform that’s no longer operating as described, let me know in the comments so I can update it for the next reader.
Should I pay for any “starter kit” or “course” to access these platforms?
No — every platform on this list is directly accessible by creating a free account on their own website. You should never need to pay a third party for “access” to a job board, freelancing platform, or survey site. This is one of the most common red flags in make-money-online scams.
